Josetta Saffirio's has an ancient history, as sweet as the hills on which she was born. A history that begins at the end of the nineteenth century with the first member of the Saffirio family, Giovanni Battista, moving to the Langhe region.Aware of the wonders that surround us, Sara welcomes her guests involving them in activities that go beyond a simple tasting. Through a detailed visit that starts with the view of the vineyards and goes through two centuries of Saffirio Company's History, your guests will discover all the secrets of Barolo: where it was born and how a quality wine is produced. They will learn about the terroir, the cru and the fundamental differences in microclimate between the various territories that produce Barolo. Surrounded by the charm of the barrels, the secrets of the aging of wine in wooden casks and of the work in the wine cellar will be revealed. Finally, through a guided tasting, you will understand how to recognize in a glass of wine the aromas born in the vineyard. The tasting itinerary includes all our wines based on Nebbiolo and the three Barolo wines: Barolo Classico, Barolo Persiera and Barolo Millenovecento48. As a souvenir of the experience, you will receive the Map of the Crus of the Barolo area.WINE AND TREKKING EXPERIENCE Visit to the Winery with company's history and explanation of the production process. Then guests can taste the wines with breadsticks. Then you will be provided with the trekking equipment (backpack, water, blanket, Nordic walking poles) and a map of the paths which highlight the crus of the surroundings with a suggested route.Or, alternatively, WINE AND TREKKING experience with tasting of cold meats and cheeses.
